The Rehabilitation Hospital of the Cape and Islands in Sandwich has created a Stroke Peer Visitation Program to expand the range of services offered for stroke survivors and their families. The program is intended for people who are not able to attend hospital or community-based support groups. Visits may be made to stroke survivors at home or in assisted living facilities and nursing homes. For information about volunteering or arranging a visit, call 508-833-4043.

Directors of Outer Cape Health Services at their annual meeting January 3 named Donna Zayatz of Dennis as treasurer while re-electing all other officers. New members of the board are Robin Reid of Provincetown, John Hinckley Jr. of Orleans and Dennis O’Connell of Wellfleet.

Cuts Fitness, a New Jersey-based fitness company which has two franchises on the Cape in Sandwich and East Falmouth, has been named by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of its “top 20 new franchises for 2006.”

Dot Moran, a Registered Dietitian at Cape Cod Hospital in the Medical Nutrition Therapy and Diabetes Program, has renewed her Certified Diabetes Educator status by completing the continuing education renewal option process of the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators.
