Cape Cod Hospital Again In Top 100

Cape Cod Hospital for the fifth time in nine years has been chosen as one of the Top 100 hospitals in America, according to the Benchmarks for Success survey conducted by Solucient, an Illinois-based health care information company.

The results, based on quantitative performance in the areas of clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, financial results and adaptation to environmental change, are published in Modern Healthcare magazine.

Cape Cod Hospital was judged in the category of Medium Community Hospitals and was one of only five from Massachusetts on the overall Top 100 list. The others were Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Newton Wellesley, South Shore and Beverly Hospitals.

“It’s a tremendous accomplishment,” said Stephen L. Abbott, President and CEO, Cape Cod Healthcare. Cape Cod Hospital is part of the Cape Cod Healthcare family. Falmouth Hospital, its sister acute-care facility, recently was honored as one of 50 Exceptional Hospitals based on a nationwide survey conducted by Consumer’s Digest and The Leapfrog Group, an association of U.S. business executives working to create giant “leaps” in safety, quality and affordability of health care.
