Obviously, there’s a connection.
In a span of three weeks this fall, Broad Reach Healthcare/Liberty Commons of North Chatham announced recognition by two outside rating agencies.
* Following a week-long on-site inspection by the state Department of Public Health, Liberty Commons was found to be in “100% compliance with all applicable requirements for certification in the Medicare and Medicaid programs.” Soon after, Liberty Commons was advised by DPH that it achieved a score of 131 out of a possible 132 points on the state’s “Nursing Home Report Card,” placing it in the top three percent of all 450 facilities in the Commonwealth and tied with Mayflower Place in Yarmouth for tops on the Cape.
* Then, within weeks, came word from the Boston Globe that for the fourth straight year they had been named one of the newspaper’s Top Places to Work in Massachusetts, marking their fourth consecutive year to receive such recognition.
The Globe’s 2011 Top Places to Work survey was conducted by WorkPlace Dynamics of Pennsylvania and seeks to identify organizations which care for their most valuable resource: their employees.
The DPH report card measures key indicators in Administration, Resident Rights, Food Service, Environment and Nursing and represents a three-year compilation of state inspections, thereby giving consumers more than a snapshot glance at a nursing home’s performance. The statewide average score for nursing home quality is 121.
“These findings really are quite impressive…and truly a testimonial to the capabilities of our almost 200 employees,” said Bill Bogdanovich, President/CEO of Broad Reach/Liberty Commons.”
Liberty Commons opened in Orleans Road in North Chatham 25 years ago and since has grown into a multifaceted healthcare organization including the flagship nursing facility, Liberty Commons Skilled Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, The Victorian assisted living residence, Broad Reach Outpatient Rehabilitation Clinic and Broad Reach Hospice & Palliative Care.
