Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod, now celebrating its 30th year as the only independent non-profit serving patients and families with serious illness in Barnstable County, has announced the appointment of Walter M. Julian as Chief of Clinical Operations. HPCCC recently has expanded to serve Plymouth, Bristol, Suffolk and Norfolk Counties as Hospice of Boston & Greater Brockton, and Martha’s Vineyard as Island Hospice while also affiliating with Alzheimer’s Services of Cape Cod and the Islands.
Cape Medical Supply has added Susan Buell, RT to its staff as sleep therapy compliance programs manager. Her work is primarily focused at the onset of the therapy and works most directly with several exciting new wireless monitoring platforms allowing for real time monitoring and engagement with patients starting their sleep therapy programs. She has been a Registered Respiratory Therapist since 1983, working in homecare directly since 2004. She is a graduate of the Rhode Island Hospital School of Respiratory Therapy.
Latham Centers, Inc., a Cape-based not-for-profit serving children and adults with emotional, developmental and physical disabilities, has announced the election of Sheila Burns of West Barnstable and Bradford P. Malo of Brewster to its Board of Directors. Ms. Burns was principal at Centerville Elementary School until her retirement in 2007. Mr. Malo is a principal owner of Coastal Engineering Company, Inc. of Orleans Latham recently was awarded a $20,000 grant from Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern New England, Inc., to be used to build a new adaptive playground on the grounds of Latham School in Brewster. Latham now is raising an additional $20,000 to fully cover equipment and installation expenses.
