Henry Tuttle, CEO of Outer Cape Health Services in Provincetown and Wellfleet for the last four years, has left that position to head the Manet Community Health Center in Quincy. In announcing Mr. Tuttle’s departure, Board President Dave Willard lauded his achievement in “returning the non-profit community health center to financial health” A nationwide search for a successor drew 46 applications. As the Community Search Committee narrowed the field, one of the candidates, Dr. Roberta Berrien, was named interim CEO. Dr. Berrien, who was interim medical director at the Whittier Street Community Health Center in Boston, is a resident of Brewster.
Cape Medical Supply announces two additions to its executive management team. Ellen Burke of Sandwich has been named general manager and Kevin Gallagher of South Yarmouth is director of professional relations.
State Representative Cleon Turner (D-Dennis) has been named a winner of the ForsythKids Golden Toothbrush Award from the Forsyth Institute “to acknowledge his long-term commitment to oral health and the overall health and well-being of the children of Barnstable County.”
Jeanne Sarnosky, director of marketing, and provider and community relations for the VNA of Cape Cod, has received a Silver Lamplighter Award for her “Welcome to the Breakroom” recruitment campaign from the New England Society for Healthcare Communications at its recent spring symposium. The 2008 competition included 350 entries from more than 80 organizations.
Kristine Callahan of Centerville has been named Community Relations Director of Whitehall Estate, an Emeritus Senior Living Community. She previously served as Outreach Coordinator for Alzheimer’s Services of Cape Cod & the Islands and will continue to work with the organization as a consultant.
As a result of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce's first Economic Summit, a community working group has been announced to advance the issues of the Cape's economy and residential demographics. Former Chamber board member, Steve Abbott, retired CEO of Cape Cod Healthcare and current Chamber board member, Gary Sheehan, President/CEO of Cape Medical Supply and co-founder of the Cape Cod Young Professionals will co-chair this group. Both are members of the Advisory Board of To Your Good Health, A Health Care Newsletter.
The high wind of research has blown Cape Cod dust across the country. Dust from 120 Cape homes were among comparison samples from several states used in a study of the prevalence of higher levels of a toxic flame retardant polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in California. The study was conducted by the Silent Spring Institute of Massachusetts in collaboration with other organizations and Dr. Ami Zota, an SSI scientist, was lead author of the study report.
Senate President Therese Murray (D-Plymouth/Upper Cape) has been recognized at the Life Care Center of Plymouth for her career-long advocacy of seniors and health care.
President Kathleen Schatzberg, a member of the Advisory Board of To Your Good Health, A Healthcare Newsletter, will remain at Cape Cod Community College at the request of the Board of Trustees. In a special meeting, the trustees asked her not to retire at the end of the academic year. Citing the need for continuity and stability as the college faces looming budget cuts, the board in a special meeting voted unanimously to ask President Schatzberg to remain at the helm. In response, she agreed to remain and help shepherd the institution through the upcoming difficult period.

opened a second location in Waquoit, 508-588-9049.
He provides therapy to teenagers and adults including
addiction therapy.
